Operation Appreciation 2012

Come celebrate and honor the military on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Operation Appreciation 2012, a day long festival of fun and entertainment at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater from 11 am – 4 pm.

The festival is open to the public.

Active duty military and family receive  free food, carnival rides and entertainment.  All Active Duty Military and their dependents  bring an Active Duty Military ID Card to get unlimited rides, activities, and a free lunch.

Wristbands are available for purchase for children’s rides at $10 per person.  Entertainment and military displays are free to everyone.

Activities for the kids include: fun zone with carnival rides, inflatable jumps, rock climbing wall, kid's crafts and face painting. The children's area will also have characters like Baby Shamu and the Padres Pad Squad for kids to meet and take pictures.

Live entertainment: Mistress of Midlife Crisis, a local band of veterans and active duty military takes the stage at 12 PM.

You can check out military land and amphibious displays, including the LCAC.  And the EOD team will demonstrate their latest equipment and answer questions.
